A little about San Leandro

Just east of the Oakland International Airport and right off San Francisco Bay, San Leandro, California, is a large city in Alameda County home to a population of more than 80,000 residents. The town is conveniently located just west of Anthony Chabot Regional Park, which encompasses Lake Chabot, Lake Chabot Golf Course and the smaller Chabot Park, and is a popular destination in the region throughout the year, but particuarly in the summer. Three hospitals, San Leandro Hospital, Kindred Hospital and Fairmont Hospital, operate in town, providing a number of options for medical care and also employing a large number of locals. Marina Square is the heart of town, and the Pacific Recreation Complex is a popular place for residents to visit.

The town lies just east of the bay, and on the bay are a number of attractions, like Metropolitan Golf Links, Monarch Bay Golf Club, Marina Park, Oyster Bay Regional Shoreline and Tony Lema Golf Course. corporate businesses such as JanSport, The North Face, Ghirardelli and Otis Spunkmeyer all are located here in San Leandro, and three malls, the Bayfair Center, Westgate Center and Marina Square Center. San Leandro Unified School District operates eight elementary schools, two middle schools and San Leandro High School. Two yacht clubs, Spinnaker Yacht Club and San Leandro Yacht Club, are found in town as well.
