A Little about Bay Point

Just south of the shores of Suisun Bay, east of San Francisco, lies Bay Point, California. The town is a suburb in Contra Costa County, about 30 miles northeast of Oakland, the location where most residents and visitors to Bay Point fly into. The town is almost 10 square miles in size and has a population of just over 20,000. Administrative and support and waste management services, construction, finance and health care are the industries in which the most people are employed, and the closest hospital is just seven miles away in Concord. Three elementary schools and one middle school make up the public school system in town. Students attend high school in nearby cities.

Ambrose Park is the largest recreational outdoor area in town and is a popular place for jogging, picnicking or simply enjoying the balmy California weather. There are 20 colleges within 30 miles of Bay Point, and 22 additional community colleges in the 30-mile radius. The town is just south of the US Naval Station-Port Chicago, and there are 11 major museums within 30 miles. Transportation options include the Pittsburg/Bay Point BART rail station just outside of downtown that connects the area with surrounding cities.
