A little about Brentwood

Nestled on the eastern inland part of the Bay Area, Brentwood, California, is a quiet, suburban town with a population of just over 23,000. The area is recognized throughout the Bay Area for its farming and agricultural products, primarily its cherries, corn and peaches. The town is located in Contra Costa County and is home to the Brentwood Golf Club as well as Creekside and McClarren parks. Its downtown area is centered around the intersection of Oak and First streets. The town has an upscale shopping center, called the Streets of Brentwood.

Brentwood is home to seven elementary, three middle, and three high schools in its public education system, in addition to three private schools. For post-secondary education, there are three community colleges within a few minutes' distance. The town hosts an annual Cornfest in July and local residents set up a farmers markets each Saturday during the summer months. Construction, education, public administration, finance and insurance are the largest industries here, and the nearest hospital is about eight miles away in Antioch. East County Historical Society and the John Marsh House provide history buffs a couple locations to explore the area's past.
