A little about Fairfield

Located about midway between San Francisco and Sacramento, and about 10 miles from northern California's wine country, Fairfield, California, is home to a population of around 110,000. The town is home to Travis Air Force Base, which handles more cargo and passenger traffic in its airport than any other military air terminal in the country. Jimmy Doolittle Air & Space Museum is located on the base. The city is home to a few golf courses, including Paradise Valley Golf Course and Rancho Solano Golf Course. It is home to the Jelly Belly jelly-bean factory, an Anheuser-Busch Budweiser brewery facility and a Clorox bleach producing facility. Shopping opportunities abound at the Solano Mall and the Westfield Shopping Mall.

Six high schools, six middle schools and nearly two dozen elementary school make up the public school system here of two school districts: Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District and Travis Unified School District. Solano Community College isin Fairfield, and three University of California campuses are close by. The Northbay Medical Center hospital serves the medical needs of the community. The largest employers within the city are the Travis Air Force Base, the County of Solano, the Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District and NorthBay Medical Center, all with more than 1,000 employees. Fairfield Center for Creative Arts provide artistic opportunities within the community.
